The Angry Algorithms are back, and somehow Episode 242 manages to cover everything from a dog pissing all over a bed to the Flyers finding new and exciting ways to make everyone miserable. We kick things off with an absolutely unbelievable story involving Jimmy Six, a giant pit bull, home wound care, and one very unfortunate bedroom accident. From there, we check in on the rapidly improving Pod Squad hockey standings, celebrate a new father, offer condolences to a longtime listener, and somehow end up debating whether Texas Roadhouse serves “real food.” Then things get considerably more serious as we discuss protests in France and Northern Ireland, government corruption, the Epstein files, and why the hosts think Americans have become far too willing to sit back and take it. And then, of course, there's Philadelphia sports. The Flyers are off to a rough start, and the guys have plenty to say about Rick Tocchet's system, the organization's refusal to truly tear things down, the lack of superstar talent, and whether Philadelphia has any chance of attracting elite players like Quinn Hughes. The Eagles aren't exactly spared either, as Lane Johnson's family situation leads to a discussion about the Eagles' organization and what it means to have an owner who actually gives a shit. Finally, the conversation takes a nostalgic turn as the guys reminisce about the Spectrum — Flyers games, Sixers games, wrestling, concerts, monster trucks, Rocky, scalpers, dangerous stairways, and the general glory of a building that was objectively a dump but somehow remains one of Philadelphia's most beloved sports memories. Oh, and yes… we somehow say “meat stop” about 47 times. Episode 242 is angry, inappropriate, nostalgic, sports-obsessed, and exactly what you'd expect from the Angry Algorithms.
